Geophytes, the botanical term for perennial plants that grow from underground bulbs, are a valuable component of all spring-flowering gardens. While tulips and daffodils are the well-known celebrities, there are other worthwhile geophytes to include in your landscape. Some aren’t touched by squirrels or deer, while others tolerate wet soils, and some make great additions to containers. Take home a sampling of lesser-known spring-flowering bulbs to plant in your garden this fall.
