You will learn to create a contemporary structure\, new floral design techniques and take home a table design. Materials and flowers will be provided. This is a hands-on workshop with personal attention by Kathy. \n  \nSOLD OUT \n  \nAbout the instructor: \nKathleen Powell\, a member of the Peachtree Garden Club\, is famous for her original designs and wonderful sense of line and color\, and her cutting-edge mechanics mystify and fascinate novice and expert floral designers alike. Mrs. Powell is an award-winning designer known both inside and outside of the US\, and she constantly challenges herself to learn more\, studying floral design around the world. She was chosen to create an Honorary Exhibit at the World Association of Flower Arrangers in Barbados in 2017 and exhibited in India in 2020. She has exhibited in the Philadelphia flower show for 24 years in a row. Her generosity as a teacher and mentor are widely praised\, and her remarkable talent and creativity shine through her unique designs\, inspiring all. She is a horticulture judge as well as a floral design judge. \nThe Waterfront Botanical Garden and the Glenview Garden Club are thrilled to welcome Kathy for a floral design demonstration and workshop\, and to talk about her experiences exhibiting around the world.

It is versatile and can be formed into a variety of bonsai styles including informal upright\, cascade and windswept. This is an outdoor tree and is winter hardy material. The material is approximately six years old and has been grown specifically as pre-bonsai. It is a tropical plant that is cultivated as an ornamental for its foliage. It can be grown indoors\, is somewhat drought tolerant\, and is sought after for use as bonsai material.
