Tomorrow the Louisville Metro Council is to vote on the future of the Waterfront Botanical Gardens site. The vote is on whether to declare the site as ‘surplus property.’ Declaring the site ‘surplus property’ is the first step needed for the eventual purchase of the property by Botanica which will allow us to control the site for the long-term and will give our organization and the Gardens much greater stability than the lease which we currently have allows.
