Construction is well underway at the Waterfront Botanical Gardens, a project that’s been in the works for many years.
“This is the Graeser Family Education Center, sponsored by the Graeser family here in Louisville,” Kasey Maier, Waterfront Botanical Gardens President said. “It will be the first building on the site. It’s also our biggest event space.”
Maier said a Botanical Garden is important for the community in more ways than one.
“It’s about environmental and plant education.” Maier said. “It’s also a cultural asset for Louisville, clearly. We will have events here. A venue for concerts, art shows and performance art and all those kinds of things.”
