Join Botanica and Jeneen Wiche for our spring event at Bunton’s Feed and Seed on Saturday, March 24th. Jeneen will talk about best practices to keep in mind when planning your vegetable garden. She’ll also demonstrate the best process for starting your seeds in preparation for spring planting. Jeneen will also provide an update on what she and her husband are doing at Swallow Rail Farm, where they are raising sheep, chickens, fruit and vegetables for the locals.
Jeneen Wiche, a native of Louisville, started gardening as soon as she could walk. But it didn’t become her profession until after her father, the late Fred Wiche, died of cancer in 1998. After his death, she took over writing the syndicated “Weekend Gardener” column that had been his. Today that column is published in approximately 20 community newspapers across Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Jeneen has been featured in “Edible Louisville” and “Back Home in Kentucky” magazines. Jeneen has also shared a microphone with former Louisville Courier-Journal columnist Bob Hill (who will be assisting her during our spring event) on a weekly radio show about gardening, WFPL’s Home Grown.
This event is sponsored by Botanica, Hidden Hill Nursery and Bunton’s Seed! Thanks so much to all of our sponsors!
