Beargrass Creek Restoration Project begins this Saturday!

WHEN: Saturday, October 2, 9 a.m. -12.p.m. Arrive early for registration and breakfast.

WHERE: The confluence of Beargrass Creek and the Ohio River, Eva Bandman Park, 1701 River Rd., 40206

WHO: The Beargrass Creek Alliance and a coalition of public agencies, non-profit organizations, corporate sponsors, and members of the public. Public and non-profit agencies include Metro Parks, MSD, the Kentucky Waterways Alliance, the Louisville Olmsted Parks Conservancy, and Brightside. Corporate sponsors include WBKI, River Metals Recycling, Waste Management, Bob Hook Chevrolet, Nugent Sand Company, Sea Ray of Louisville, Bass Pro Shops and Sam’s Club.

WHAT: 100 volunteers are needed to help with:

Litter and debris removal from the creek by canoe

Litter and debris removal along the shores of the creek and the river

Removing invasive plant species & re-planting native plants
