On October 10, 2015, Ben Grumbles, Secretary of the Environment for Maryland and Louisville native, spoke at our Annual Meeting. He says: “As gardeners, and as plant enthusiasts, you know how a healthy future depends on keeping our soil healthy – growing, planting, nurturing. You can’t get more inspiring than having a botanical gardens on top of a landfill. Converting waste into wealth. Planting seeds of hope and doing it through citizen engagement and citizen science.” That’s what the Waterfront Botanical Gardens are all about.
