Plants are paramount at Waterfront Botanical Gardens’ Sprouts Summer Camps. Whether we are painting pots, scooping soil for seeds, or peering at our planet’s predominant pollinators, age-appropriate botany is always at our core.

All summer camps take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday at Waterfront Botanical Gardens, 1435 Frankfort Avenue.
All campers must be fully potty-trained in order to attend camp.
Parents/Guardians should plan to provide transportation, a snack, and a lunch for their camper each day.

Arts in the Gardens
June 3 – June 7
Ages 7-10

For centuries, artists of all kinds have been inspired by the beauty of nature. Join us for a week of dance, drama, music, and visual arts as we use the marigolds and magnolias as our muses.

From Conifers to Camptosaurus
July 8 – July 12
Ages 4-6

Do you dig dinos? Travel back in time to discover what they ate, where they lived, and the plants that grew when they were alive. Pint-sized paleontologists are sure to have a ROARING good time!

Bug Detectives
July 15 – July 19
Ages 4-6

Grab a magnifying glass as we investigate the differences between spiders and stickbugs, worms and weevils, silkworms and snails. Campers will use clues to solve the mysteries of which bugs are beneficial to our Gardens and which ones are pests.

Wildflowers, Worms, Wizards, & Wands
July 22 – July 26
Ages 7-10

With a little imagination, the science of plants can quickly become quite magical. Step into our herbology lab where we will get curious about carnivorous plants and produce powerful plant potions.

July 29 – August 2
Ages 8-12

Are disgust, anger, sadness, and fear stealing all your joy?  Figure out how to get back on track and make some great core memories with this week-long mindfulness camp.  We will work on managing our thoughts and developing coping skills when faced with life’s challenges-all in a calming Garden setting.
