Late Winter Pruning: Building Your Confidence
Late Winter Pruning: Building Your Confidence
Saturday, March 9, 1:30 – 3:30pm
Avish Estate Greenhouse Complex
Late winter is the prime time to complete numerous pruning tasks in the landscape. Build your confidence in the task by gaining insight at the tools to have in your arsenal, learning how plants respond to pruning, and prioritizing what to prune in a shrub that seems to be all but a mess of twigs. Also find out which flowering shrubs to prune now, and which ones need to wait until later in the year. This class includes lecture, demonstration, and practical application on some woody plants. (Choose from either the Thursday or Saturday session — they contain identical content.)
Instructor: Jamie Burghardt
Jamie is the Director of Horticulture and Education at WBG with over 20 years of horticultural experience. He has previously taught pruning workshops at botanical gardens, home and garden shows, and for local garden clubs.
