We are excited to announce that the Louisville Area Daylily Society (LADS) has established a generous $50,000 matching challenge in memory of Helen Harrigan. Helen was an avid gardener and left a sizable bequest to Botanica, Inc. in 2001 to “build a botanical garden and conservatory” in Louisville.
The Louisville Area Daylily Society has committed $50,000 to Waterfront Botanical Gardens, and in recognition of their support the Daylily garden will be named the “Helen Harrigan Memorial Daylily Garden, Sponsored by the Louisville Area Daylily Society.”
The $50,000 match grant established by the Louisville Area Daylily Society will support the purchase of plant materials including, but not limited to: trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, and flowering perennials for the gardens in Phase 1.
The first building, the Graeser Family Education Center, will open this October and we need your help to bring the Gardens to life so that students can learn about plants and the environment, and all guests can enjoy the beauty of a botanical garden.
All new cash donations, excluding sponsored items, will be doubled, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000! We encourage you to check if your employer will match your gift, which could TRIPLE your donation.
Your gift is an investment in the future of the Waterfront Botanical Gardens as well as the future of our community.
