“A plan to turn a former landfill into a botanical garden on Louisville’s waterfront has been in the works for years. Its first section is set to open later this year.
Construction for Louisville’s Waterfront Botanical Gardens, which has been in the works since as early as 2005, is underway on a 23-acre property that was previously the Ohio Street Dump. When complete, the botanical gardens will include 10 distinct sections. The first, the 6,000-square-foot Graeser Family Education Center, will be complete and open to the public by Oct. 4.”
