Louisville, Ky. – Nature lovers will have a walkway to explore at the Waterfront Botanical Gardens.

The Waterfront Botanical Gardens cut the ribbon for the new Beargrass Creek Pathway Wednesday. The 1,720-foot winding walkway connects the Butchertown Greenway to the Gardens. The newly built walkway that features three bridges over a waterfall is 100% ADA accessible.

“This (walkway) allows people to come all the way down and enjoy the seating area, the waterfall and get down to Beargrass Creek with an accessible pathway. Right now our gardens are 100% accessible, but I don’t think that will always be true ’cause we will have those hidden pathways. Other botanical gardens are not as accessible, only about 40%,” said Waterfront Botanical Gardens’ president Kasey Maier.
