Cave Hill Tree Tours (9/26 & 10/21) SOLD OUT
Join WBG on a Fall Tree Tour at historic Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Ave, 40204.
Participants will meet first in the Cave Hill Board Room for refreshments, while Michael Higgs (head of the Cave Hill Heritage Foundation) presents a brief overview and history of Cave Hill prior to the tour.
Cave Hill is a Class II Arboretum and features many notable tree and shrub specimens.
Janice Staugas will present a decorative wood display and talk about the native KY tree species that her pieces are made from.
Horticulture Manager Sarah Schaffner, and Arborist Roger Martin will guide the group on a 90-minute, rustic hay wagon ride through this Victorian, garden-style cemetery.
Attendees please enter and park at the Broadway entrance (intersection of Broadway, Baxter and Cherokee Roads) under the clock tower. Parking is available along the road inside the entrance.
