Waterfront Botanical Gardens details next step with new building (RENDERINGS)

Waterfront Botanical Gardens is moving ahead on its next major project despite the ongoing strains of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kasey Maier, president of Waterfront Botanical Gardens, said Monday that a groundbreaking for the Ellen T. Leslie Botanical Classrooms will be held in early October. The project will take about 10 months to construct.
The 23-acre botanical gardens is at the corner of River Road and Frankfort Avenue and is a roughly $60 million project. It is being built on reclaimed land that once was used as the Ohio Street Landfill.
