Would you like to grow flowers in your garden and enjoy bouquets of beautiful blossoms? Can you imagine the joy of sharing your homegrown beauties with family, friends and maybe even start your own Flower Farming business?
Join the Jefferson County Master Gardeners for a discussion about the worldwide floral industry and its impact on our environment. Let’s brainstorm ways we can do our part to help reduce the global carbon footprint while being immersed in brightly colored and fragrant flowering plants, herbs, and bountiful bouquets. We’ll talk about how to grow flowers and garden plants without pesticides while using organic methods. Let’s dig deep into the process of growing Dahlias and other cut flower favorites like Larkspur, Zinnias, Celosia, Sunflowers, fragrant mints, cilantro, basils, oregano and other wonderful bouquet fillers. How many months of the year can you harvest cut flowers from your own back yard? Join us and find out!
