Calling all fern fiddlehead lovers and gardeners looking for deer-resistant plants!
Connect with your inner fern-fanatic in this lecture and field trip exploring the best ferns for Kentuckiana landscapes. Familiarize yourself with some identifying features of ferns and what growing environments ensure their success. Discover which hardy ferns you will most likely find at local nurseries and others to search for elsewhere.
You’ll soon become a “fernatic.”
Please meet in the parking lot. Handouts will be provided to assist in the teaching excursion into Whitehall’s Woodland Fern Garden and stumpery. Social distancing of a minimum of 6 feet will be practiced outdoors. Please also wear a cloth face covering during the class.
Per COVID-19 guidelines, this outdoor class is currently limited to 10 people total.

Refund Policy
Although we are unable to refund registration fees in the case of cancellation by the purchaser, the paid registration can be transferred to another student. In this case, please notify Allison Whitehouse at AWHITEHOUSE@WATERFRONTGARDENS.ORG or 502-276-5404 with the name of who will attend in your place. Multi-event series cannot be transferred. In the event that Waterfront Botanical Gardens cancels a class for any reason (e.g. low enrollment, instructor unavailability, natural hazard, etc.), we will attempt to reschedule the class or event. If there is no reschedule, the purchaser will be issued a full refund. Refunds are issued by check only. Beargrass Canoe Tours have a different policy with no refunds under any circumstance because of river and weather volatility.
Emergency Cancellation
In the event of an emergency cancellation, the Gardens will contact registered students with a cancellation notice (always provide/maintain a current email address and phone number so that we may notify you of an emergency or cancellation). The Gardens will attempt to reschedule classes cancelled due to an emergency event if possible.
