Silent Meditation Retreat
Sunday, November 12 • 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Graeser Family Education Center
$40 | $33 WBG members
Find a restorative and affirming shift in wellbeing while exploring mindfulness meditation with curiosity and kindness. This retreat is supported by the Gardens’ beautiful spaces, incredible music, tasty food, and skillful teachers. Participants are silent during most of the retreat as the instructors guide a variety of meditation forms, including walking, eating, sitting, sound, and chair yoga.
Notes from the instructor: Gratitude is the obvious theme for a retreat into silent meditation the week before Thanksgiving. Cultures have long celebrated bountiful harvests with rituals of gratitude and the spiritual dimension of homecoming. We will also acknowledge that fall is a time of “hunkering down” in the natural world: temperatures cool, plants grow dormant, and animals prepare for the upcoming cold weather. The natural world is in a state of complete and total nonresistance to the rhythm of these cycles. We will include ourselves in surrendering to this natural flow, moment to moment, letting go into the abundance of life that has always been here, just waiting for us to become more conscious of it.
