Consider using a native plant in your garden! From trees and shrubs to perennials and ornamental grasses, an array of regional plants are perfect for many landscape applications.
Learn the identities of some of the finest species to seek out at nurseries and then plant. In addition, gain an awareness of the benefits and limitations of our native plants and their cultivated varieties (called “nativars”). Every Kentucky and Indiana landscape deserves space for the finest of our native plants, whether for ornamental beauty or ecological responsibility. This is an excellent introductory to intermediate-level lecture on the world of native plants.
Instructor: Jamie Burghardt
Refund Policy
Although we are unable to refund registration fees in the case of cancellation by the purchaser, the paid registration can be transferred to another student. In this case, please notify Allison Whitehouse at awhitehouse@waterfrontgardens.org or 502-276-5404 with the name of who will attend in your place. Multi-event series cannot be transferred. In the event that Waterfront Botanical Gardens cancels a class for any reason (e.g. low enrollment, instructor unavailability, natural hazard, etc.), we will attempt to reschedule the class or event. If there is no reschedule, the purchaser will be issued a full refund. Refunds are issued by check only. Beargrass Canoe Tours have a different policy with no refunds under any circumstance because of river and weather volatility.
Emergency Cancellation
In the event of an emergency cancellation, the Gardens will contact registered students with a cancellation notice (always provide/maintain a current email address and phone number so that we may notify you of an emergency or cancellation). The Gardens will attempt to reschedule classes cancelled due to an emergency event if possible.
