We are thrilled to share the news that two longtime supporters, Emil and Nancy Graeser, have generously pledged a $1 million matching gift to support the Waterfront Botanical Gardens!
The Graesers have played a leading role in our progress by encouraging others in the community to support the project over the past few years. In both 2013 and 2015, Emil and Nancy established matching gifts of $225,000 each. This latest pledge brings the Graesers’ total support to $1.45 million for the garden effort.
Our opening day is within reach! Including this recent gift, we’ve raised over $3.6 million toward our $4.2 million Phase 1 goal. If we’re able to meet our ultimate goal by the end of this year, we’ll be on our way to breaking ground in 2017.
We hope you’ll help us meet that goal. Every donation to the gardens will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to the matching gift total of $1 million.
Here’s how it works: If an individual makes a $250 donation, that gift will be matched by $250 from the Graesers’ matching grant. Thanks to the match, the total impact of the gift is $500.
There are many ways to make a donation, including:
- Make a general gift to the garden
- Join the Education 100 to help build the Education Pavilion
- Buy a Brick in the Founders’ Garden at the Heigold façade
Many thanks for your support!
